The Purpose of Holango
The primary goal of Holango is for students to learn the available vocabularies as quickly as possible. That’s it. Everything else—the features, options, and “missions”—are just the icing on the already delicious cake. This website was created because there wasn’t a single platform designed to help students master vocabulary lists. These vocabularies can be created by teachers who want their students to learn a specific topic in a way that aligns with their teaching objectives. Students master these vocabularies through various interactive tasks.
Creating Schools and Classes
• Creating a School:
Every teacher can create a school where they can manage classes. This feature is available in the free package at no cost. After creating a school, teachers can create classes within that school. For example, a school might be named “János Kiss Private Tutor” or “Neumann János High School.” Once the school is created, teachers can create classes within it and invite students to join.
• Joining Existing Schools:
If a teacher creates a school, they can assign classes to it. In the free package, a teacher can create one class per school. However, with a paid subscription, they can create unlimited classes within a single school.
If a school purchases a subscription, multiple teachers can join the school’s system and independently create classes. The school must approve the teacher’s request to join, ensuring that all teachers are officially affiliated with the school.
Creating and Managing Classes
• Creating a Class:
Teachers can create classes within their schools.
• Invitation Links:
• When a class is created, the teacher receives an invitation link, which they can share via email with prospective students.
• Students can join the class using this link, but their membership must be approved by the teacher.
• The teacher can view the email address of the joining student to verify their eligibility.
• Once students are approved, their progress and completed tasks can be monitored by the teacher.
Managing Student Data
For enrolled students, the teacher can access the following information:
• Username and email address.
• List of completed tasks and their completion percentages.
Assigning Learning Materials
• Assigning Vocabularies and Sets:
Teachers can assign various learning materials (vocabularies or sets) to their classes.
• Mandatory or Optional Learning:
Students can complete the assigned materials at their own pace, but within a school setting, these materials can also be marked as mandatory.
• Performance Tracking:
Teachers can monitor the percentage of completion for the assigned materials and track their students’ progress.
Holango offers a flexible system for teachers to organize the learning process, customize materials, and easily monitor their students’ development. This makes it an invaluable tool for enhancing teaching efficiency and student engagement.
